Sportemon Go Integrates Chainlink VRF
Sportemon Go is excited to announce our integration of Chainlink VRF on Binance Smart Chain to access Provably Fair Randomness within our blockchain-based sports gaming platform. Chainlink VRF will be leveraged within all Sportemon Go games and competitions to ensure that outcomes reliant on randomness are unbiased and tamper-proof. Additionally, Chainlink VRF will be used as part of our NFT sports trading cards and augmented reality metaverse to facilitate transparent distribution models and generate unpredictable traits and experiences.

We selected Chainlink’s industry-standard VRF solution because it’s built according to leading academic research and supported by a time-tested oracle network that currently secures tens of billions of dollars throughout DeFi. Importantly, Chainlink VRF is an auditable source of RNG, meaning users can independently verify its integrity. The result is all users having an equal chance of winning virtual games and rare collectibles.
We plan to expand our integration in the future, connecting with other Chainlink data feeds to empower new user experiences like minting NFT trading cards based on individual player stats and generating fan rewards when certain match outcomes occur
Expanding the Utility of Sportemon Go

Sportemon Go will use Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) for on-chain randomness to settle instant win, collect to win, and lucky draw blockchain games. Sportemon Go will also leverage Chainlink VRF to distribute trading card NFTs that gamers can then find while exploring our AR metaverse or by winning competitions. NFT and AR experiences can become even more dynamic by injecting sports data from Chainlink to alter these environments like triggering the issuance of new rewards or upgrading existing rewards.
With randomness being a key element to fairness, we wanted to make sure our source of randomness was tamper-proof and auditable so users trust the platform. However, on-chain randomness solutions like blockhashes introduce vulnerabilities where miners can manipulate the outcomes. Alternatively, off-chain randomness solutions are opaque and provide no proof of integrity. Both solutions become increasingly concerning as the amount of value being secured by the randomness solution goes up. For these reasons, we selected Chainlink VRF for generating randomness and making it accessible on-chain.
On a technical level, Chainlink VRF works by combining block data that is unknown when the VRF request is initiated with a user-supplied seed and the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has valid cryptographic proof, and a valid cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This provides users with automated and publicly verifiable assurances that Sportemon Go applications using Chainlink VRF are provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the Sportemon Go team.
