ESPN wanted to engage their worldwide audience for the 2018 World Cup. Working with our US colleagues we designed a format that would encourage user participation both before and during the tournament.

FC Predictor, available in 3 different languages and 15 different ESPN markets, allowed users to make selections on every single game of the tournament, as well as record their overall predictions for group winners and tournament winners.

The numbers were staggering; over 39.5 million predictions were made, and users spent in excess of 25 million minutes on the site. FC Predictor succeeded on a global basis in driving user sign ups, with particular note to Brazil where 81% of players were new to ESPN.
